Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gananda Central). They never let the Marion Black Knights get on the board and left with a 24-0 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Panthers, who have now won 11 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Owen Switzer and Peter Jacob were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Switzer pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Jacob tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At bat, Switzer went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Jacob got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Brady Wadsworth and Maddox Stoughton did most of the damage at the plate: Wadsworth went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Stoughton went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four RBI gave Wadsworth a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Morabito, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Gananda Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Gananda Central is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Marion, their defeat was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-18.
As of now, neither Gananda Central nor the Black Knights have any future games scheduled.
