Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brownwood). They never let the Merkel Badgers get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Brownwood's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Merkel, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions duke it out with the Cougars at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Merkel, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 16-13 defeat against Ballinger on the 1st.
