The Decatur Central Hawks put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Whiteland at home to the tune of 76-37. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Decatur Central did.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Decatur Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenadi Passley-Banks, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleeyah Mcelrath, who scored 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Gwen Higdon and Sophia Dyer certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Higdon scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds, while Dyer scored 6 points along with 6 rebounds.
Decatur Central's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Whiteland, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Decatur Central will take on Zionsville at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Zionsville is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Whiteland, they will be playing at home against New Palestine at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. New Palestine is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
