Cedar Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was A Mata, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Mata has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.
Meanwhile, Bastrop entered their tilt with Richards School for Young Women Leaders on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Richards School for Young Women Leaders an 18-0 shutout. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Molleigh Goertz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Goertz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Laicey Sullivent was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessa Clay, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Bastrop always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .519 or higher in eight consecutive games.
Bastrop pushed their record up to 12-5-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Cedar Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 1-18.
