The Pennridge Rams will take on the Central Bucks South Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Pennridge will bounce into Thursday's game after beating North Penn, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Rams walked away with a 6-3 win over the Knights on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Averi Dockery made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Dockery was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Lilly Davies was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. She also put up an RBI, which was her first of the season. Payton Keyser was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Central Bucks South beat Central Bucks West 7-3 on Tuesday.
Brooke Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks. Those nine strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Cam Lee and Maddie Motley did most of the damage at the plate: Lee scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Motley scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Erin Ruddell, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Central Bucks South kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Central Bucks South now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Pennridge, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Pennridge hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Central Bucks South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Pennridge came out on top in a nail-biter against Central Bucks South when the teams last played back in May of 2023, sneaking past 2-0. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
