The Conneaut Spartans had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They strolled past Lakeside with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 52-34. That's another feather in the cap for Conneaut, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Conneaut's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kayla Farley led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Kiser, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Conneaut's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-12. As for Lakeside, they dropped their record down to 1-18 with that loss, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conneaut will square off against Edgewood at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Conneaut will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 460th, while Edgewood is ranked 101st). As for Lakeside, they will head out on the road to square off against Pymatuning Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
