 In other batting news,  JJ Thompson was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Dylan Sweeney, who  went 2-for-4 with four  RBI and a  run.
 Meanwhile,  it may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but West Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  squad sidled past Northwest  7-6. That's two games straight that West Creek has won by  just one  run.
  Nathan Lucas was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 Hopkinsville is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record  this season. As for West Creek, their win  ended  a  four-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 11-10.
