Franklin Community's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aubrey Leugers, who posted 12 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Leugers now owns an excellent 48.5% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Addi King, who shot 58% from the field on her way to 15 points and eight rebounds.
Gracyn Gilliard had another great game (as she tends to do), going 13-for-21 en route to 30 points for Center Grove. Gilliard's big performance that evening made it ten games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillia Tapak, who earned 11 points.
Franklin Community's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Center Grove, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Franklin Community will square off against Decatur Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Center Grove, they will take on Danville at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
