Salpointe Catholic is 10-0 against Flowing Wells since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Salpointe Catholic Lancers will play host again and welcome the Flowing Wells Caballeros, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Salpointe Catholic was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-48 to Cienega.
Despite their defeat, Salpointe Catholic saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Logan Martinez, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Bobby Smith, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Flowing Wells' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 18th straight loss. They were beaten by Canyon del Oro 71-23. Flowing Wells has struggled against Canyon del Oro recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Salpointe Catholic's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Flowing Wells, they bumped their record down to 1-18 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Salpointe Catholic against Flowing Wells when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 65-27 victory. Will Salpointe Catholic repeat their success, or does Flowing Wells have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
