The Glendale Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 63-46 to West Branch. While losing is never fun, Glendale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 646th, while West Branch is ranked 207th).
When it comes to explaining why Glendale lost, one person who can't be blamed is Landen Mcgarvey. Despite the final result, he scored 23 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mcgarvey has scored all season. Connor Potutschnig was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and two steals.
Glendale has not been sharp recently as the team's lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for West Branch, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glendale will take on Juniata Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Branch, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy at 6:00 p.m. West Branch knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 20 matchups -- so hopefully Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy likes a good challenge.
