The Wilson Prep Tigers posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Southeast Halifax with a sharp 59-37 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wilson Prep also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Wilson Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jessica Atkinson, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and four steals. Atkinson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiya Johnson, who scored six points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.
Wilson Prep's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-10. As for Southeast Halifax, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.
Wilson Prep will head out on the road to challenge Northampton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast Halifax, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rocky Mount Prep at 6:00 p.m. Rocky Mount Prep is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
