The Centerville Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Connersville Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Centerville took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Tri get on the board and left with a 24-0 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Chase Clark made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Tinkle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landen Schlotterbeck, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Centerville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri only posted an OBP of .111.
Meanwhile, Connersville can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. Everything went their way against Franklin County as they made off with a 13-6 victory. The contest marked the Spartans' most dominant win of the season so far.
Gavin Brannon tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He is becoming a predictor of Connersville's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Landyn Geise was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Flanigan, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Centerville pushed their record up to 1-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.0 runs this season. As for Connersville, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-3.
Connersville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Centerville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .419. It's a different story for Connersville, though, as they've only averaged .259. Will they be able to contain Centerville's hitters?
Centerville couldn't quite get it done against Connersville when the teams last played back in April of 2023 as they fell 5-1. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
