While losing is never fun, Kecoughtan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Woodside is ranked eighth).
Kecoughtan's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcel Pace, who scored 22 points. The contest was Pace's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Suber, who scored 15 points.
Kecoughtan's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-6. As for Woodside, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Kecoughtan will be playing at home against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodside, they will take on Archbishop Carroll at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Archbishop Carroll has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 482 points over their last seven matchups.
