The North Rangers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 51-24 loss at the hands of Chardon. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points North has scored all season.
North's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cami Welty, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds. Welty has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Angelie Cisternino, who scored six points along with two steals.
North's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Chardon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
North won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against John Hay at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. John Hay's defense has only allowed 27.6 points per game this season, so North's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Chardon, they will head out on the road to face off against Mayfield at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
