With a playoff win on the line, Kellis rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They managed a 71-67 win over the Flagstaff Eagles. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their 14th in a row.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teagan Martin, who went 10-for-13 to rack up 25 points and five boards. Those 25 points gave Martin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Edison, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Kellis pushed their record up to 25-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points over those games. As for Flagstaff, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-7.
Coming up, Kellis will square off against Valley Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valley Vista will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Kellis surely won't give up without a fight. Flagstaff does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
