Meanwhile, Christ Chapel Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Trinity at Meadow View on Tuesday, taking the game 38-31. Given Christ Chapel Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Trinity at Meadow View is ranked 317th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Christ Chapel Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zaria Gaskins out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Gaskins has scored at least a third of Christ Chapel Academy's points. Nyanbuot Woul Makec was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Calvary Temple has fallen quite a ways from their 9-3 record last season and are now at 0-3. As for Christ Chapel Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
