Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 11 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Hollins Royals proved on Thursday. They came out on top against Osceola by a score of 60-47. For Hollins, this counts as revenge for the 50-32 loss Osceola walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Hollins' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aidan Lemons led the charge by scoring 18 points along with five assists. Lemons has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Miller, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Osceola still got an impressive performance from Eleven Williams, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Hayden Hundt, who scored ten points.
Hollins' win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Osceola, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Hollins will head out on the road to challenge Pinellas Park at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Pinellas Park is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home. Osceola will take on Gibbs at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Gibbs knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Osceola likes a good challenge.
