Kentlake is a perfect 10-0 against Kent-Meridian since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Falcons will head out to challenge the Royals at 4:00 p.m. Kentlake is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
Kentlake's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Beamer 16-0. That looming 16-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.
Matthew Ledbetter was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Kentlake got a massive performance out of Noah Adams, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Adams has become a key player for the Falcons: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Moore, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Kentlake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Kent-Meridian came up short against Auburn Mountainview on Tuesday, falling 13-2. The Royals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kentlake pushed their record up to 9-5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Kent-Meridian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Kentlake has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kent-Meridian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Kentlake took their victory against Kent-Meridian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 20-4 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
