Spring Grove is a perfect 7-0 against William Penn since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Rockets will venture away from home to challenge the Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. Spring Grove will be strutting in after a win while William Penn will be coming in after a loss.
On Monday, Spring Grove got the win against Dover by a conclusive 14-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rockets.
Peityn Wonder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Spring Grove's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 3-6 when he doesn't). Wonder was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Chris Harner looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
