Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Florence). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Arete Prep CHARGERS 46-15. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Gophers as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Despite the defeat, Arete Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Livia Emery posted eight points. That was a full 53.3% of Arete Prep's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Florence's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10. As for Arete Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Florence didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-25 loss against Seton Catholic on the 7th. As for Arete Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 58-25 victory against Madison Highland Prep on the 7th.
