Parkview and Deerfield are an even 4-4 against one another since October of 2016, but not for long. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Parkview and Palmyra-Eagle, and Parkview kept the tradition alive. The Vikings had just enough and edged out the Panthers 3-2 on Tuesday.
Parkview had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-11, 15-12.

Sahara Boers-Augustine was nothing short of spectacular: she had 35 digs and one assist. Those 35 digs gave her a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Deerfield waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. Everything went their way against Madison Country Day as they made off with a 3-0 victory.
Deerfield never let Madison Country Day on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-17, 27-25, 25-17.
Parkview better focus on containing Lily Betthauser and Greenly Williams as the pair were huge in Deerfield's win. Betthauser had 21 digs and two assists, while Williams had nine digs.
Deerfield was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces in three consecutive contests.
Parkview now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Deerfield, their record is now 20-7.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's match: Parkview has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Deerfield struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.1 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Parkview suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Deerfield in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
