It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Ramapo Raiders had no problem doing just that on Friday. They managed a 14-10 win over Northern Highlands. Ramapo's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
The critical scores for Ramapo came from Charlie Wingfield and Brandon Del valle.
Despite the loss, Northern Highlands still got an impressive performance from Matt Boydell, who gained 85 total yards and a touchdown.
The team's defense also tried their best in the loss by holding Ramapo to a paltry 239 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Northern Highlands' ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out four times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Jesse Denobile and his three sacks.
Ramapo's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Northern Highlands, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Ramapo is on the road again on Friday and play against Mount Olive. Mount Olive will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Northern Highlands does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
