IV Section V recap September 24, 2013
Snowflake was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Winslow. The Lobos came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 37 last week.
Adding to the longest winning streak in IV Section V this week, Snowflake beat the Bulldogs 46-14,. The victory was the fourth in a row for Ron Tenney's team.
Colby Maxwell put up the best numbers in passing as Show Low bested Monument Valley. He finished with 6 completions for 246 yards and 4 touchdowns. Maxwell's favorite target this week was Trevor Solomon, who caught 4 passes for 158 yards.
Ty Reidhead was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 142 yards as the Lobos fell to Estrella Foothills. Lehi Caldwell also contributed to the rushing game with 83 yards on the ground.
Stoor was the best receiver in the league this week as the Falcons fell to the Wolves. Stoor racked up 9 receptions for 162 yards. Jacob DeGroote helped Fountain Hills' passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 54 yards.
Reidhead made the biggest impact on defense this week as Snowflake defeated Winslow. The 6-foot-1 senior.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Solomon. The Show Low star has 20 catches for 319 yards.
The Cougars took down the Mustangs 69-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Maxwell in the win.
