The Williams Valley Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Northern Lebanon Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Williams Valley is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
Williams Valley pushed their score all the way to 56 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Minersville. Williams Valley has not had much luck with Minersville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Northern Lebanon suffered a rough 76-52 loss at the hands of Octorara Area on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Northern Lebanon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 497th, while Octorara Area is ranked 136th).
Williams Valley now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Northern Lebanon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Williams Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Northern Lebanon in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 45-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Williams Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
