Homer and Cortland are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Homer Trojans will be home for the holidays to greet the Cortland Purple Tigers at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Homer had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a rough 68-38 loss at the hands of Chittenango. Homer has struggled against Chittenango recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Cortland, who are still winless after their fourth game. They were the victim of a tough 65-41 defeat at the hands of Institute of Tech on Friday.
Despite the defeat, Cortland got a solid performance out of Antonio Terrazas, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Caden Albright, who scored six points along with six assists.
Homer's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Cortland, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4.
Homer couldn't quite finish off Cortland when the teams last played back in December of 2022 and fell 39-36. Can Homer avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
