Randleman has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Trinity Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Randleman is not getting complacent, as they comes into the match much higher ranked than Trinity in North Carolina (Randleman is ranked 77th, while Trinity is ranked 272nd).
You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Randleman on Friday. They blew past Southwestern Randolph 24-0. The result was nothing new for Randleman, who have now won six matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
Randleman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyshaun Goldston out in front who picked up 145 receiving yards, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Goldston was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 68 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Edison Hernandez, who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Trinity strolled past Wheatmore with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 27-12.
Among those leading the charge was Dominic Payne, who rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Brandon Campbell got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Randleman to 8-0 and Trinity to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Randleman against Trinity in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 70-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Randleman since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
