With a playoff game on the line, the Holland Hall Dutch rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 38-13 margin over Checotah. The win was familiar territory for Holland Hall who now have seven in a row.
Leading Holland Hall to victory were Julius Wilson and Trey Burleson. Wilson picked up 109 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Burleson threw for 191 yards and five touchdowns on only 16 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Lj Mcghee, who rushed for 122 yards.
Checotah's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Thomas, who picked up 84 receiving yards, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Holland Hall's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points per game. As for Checotah, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-4.
Holland Hall will face off against Perkins-Tryon at TBD on Friday. Perkins-Tryon is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Checotah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
