Baseball Recap: Forest Hills Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

There's no place like home for Forest Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They never let the Derry Trojans get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Wednesday. The Rangers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Chase Williamson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Maddox Dombrosky was incredible, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Forest Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive games.

Forest Hills' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Derry, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Forest Hills wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-10 defeat against Chestnut Ridge on the 8th. As for Derry, they will venture away from home to face off against Belle Vernon at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Leopards' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
