The Westlake Academy Blacksmiths won the last time they faced the UME Preparatory Academy EAGLES, and things went their way on Thursday too. Westlake Academy strolled past UME Preparatory Academy with points to spare, taking the game 58-44. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Westlake Academy.
Several EAGLES players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was William Barnes, who scored 17 points along with three steals. Will Lupton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Westlake Academy now has a winning record of 7-6. As for UME Preparatory Academy, they dropped their record down to 11-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Westlake Academy will face off against Takoma Academy at 11:40 a.m. on Thursday. UME Preparatory Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Newman International Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
