If the Lake Norman Charter Knights were riding high off their 76-51 takedown of the South Rowan Raiders last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lake Norman Charter had to suffer through a rough 87-41 loss at the hands of Central Cabarrus. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lake Norman Charter has scored all season.
Lake Norman Charter lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Collin Mcconneyhead, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaison Propst, who scored six points.
Desmond Kent Jr. continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Central Cabarrus, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. Kent Jr. hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Chase Daniel was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds.
Lake Norman Charter's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-8. As for Central Cabarrus, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 16-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Norman Charter will take on West Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Rowan is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Central Cabarrus, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against East Rowan at 7:30 p.m. East Rowan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 543rd, while Central Cabarrus is ranked ninth).
