There's no place like home for the La Monte Vikings, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They secured a 65-61 W over Tuscumbia on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Tuscumbia still got an impressive performance from Benley Boggs, who scored 25 points. Boggs scored a full 41% of Tuscumbia's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Damon Whittle was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
La Monte's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Tuscumbia, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
La Monte will head out on the road to face off against Tipton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tuscumbia, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Columbia Independent at 7:30 p.m.
