The Brick Memorial Mustangs will square off against the Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Brick Memorial will be strutting in after a win while Point Pleasant Beach will be coming in after a loss.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Brick Memorial and Lacey Township had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Lions on Monday.

Avery Nalducci made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than 12 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Gabrielle Vida was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Carly Hobbs was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Point Pleasant Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Point Pleasant Boro.
Bridget Kane was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Faith Shilk, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Point Pleasant Beach's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Brick Memorial, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.
Point Pleasant Beach's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Brick Memorial has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Point Pleasant Beach, though, as they've been averaging only 2.2 strikeouts. Will Brick Memorial keep running through batters, or will the Garnet Gulls buck the trend?
