The Genoa-Kingston Cogs will square off against the Rock Falls Rockets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Genoa-Kingston is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Genoa-Kingston made easy work of Lutheran and carried off an 18-4 win. Considering the Cogs have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Lily Provost was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Olivia Vasak was a standout: she went 3-for-6 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Davis, who went 2-for-5 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.
Genoa-Kingston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Rock Falls can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Oregon 6-4.
Zoey Silva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Rock Falls got a big performance out of Jeslyn Krueger, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one double. Abi Skibinskie was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Rock Falls' win bumped their record up to 8-18. As for Genoa-Kingston, their victory bumped their record up to 9-13-1.
Everything went Genoa-Kingston's way against Rock Falls in their previous matchup back in April, as Genoa-Kingston made off with an 11-3 win. Will the Cogs repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
