The Greensboro Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Southside Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Greensboro is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Greensboro suffered their biggest defeat since November 9, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 60-35 walloping at the hands of Aliceville. Greensboro has not had much luck with Aliceville recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Southside didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Selma on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 47-42 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Southside's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while Selma is ranked 120th).
Greensboro's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Southside, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.
Greensboro was taken down by Southside 73-43 when the teams last played back in January of 2022. Can Greensboro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
