More Prep-Marian made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,026 from 11,743. The improvement was the result of a 49-0 victory over Russell last week.
The Monarchs led Mid-Central in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on the Broncos.
Ellinwood's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Marc Waite threw for 57 yards and Tanner Swank had 68 yards receiving. On the ground Kaleb Schartz chipped in 113 yards. Kyle Jenks helped Ellinwood's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 24 yards.
Seth Owen made the biggest impact on defense this week as Hoisington lost to Scott. The 6-foot-2 junior recorded 1 fumble and grabbed 1 sack.
Schartz was a passing and rushing force as the Eagles fell to Medicine Lodge. Schartz's favorite target this week was Swank, who caught 7 passes for 68 yards.
Waite put up the best numbers through the air as Ellinwood lost to the Indians.
Dusty Beam's team's Waite and Swank have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Waite has thrown for 319 yards this season, while Swank has 25 catches for 329 yards. Nolan McCurry from the Cardinals leads the league in rushing with 720 yards.
