Basketball Recap: Caden Scarborough Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lee Christian

Cape Fear Christian Academy won the last time they faced Lee Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles' way against the Lee Christian Falcons as the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles made off with a 70-48 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 22 points or more this season.

Cape Fear Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caden Scarborough out in front who went 6 of 7 on his way to 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Kayden Dunkins was another key player, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards.

Scarborough wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Cape Fear Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lee Christian only racked up ten assists.

Lee Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Daniel Rumbold and Luke Railo. Rumbold went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points and six rebounds, while Railo went 7 of 16 on his way to 18 points and five boards. That's the most points Railo has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Wilson, who posted six points.

The victory made it two in a row for Cape Fear Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 15-8. As for Lee Christian, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing New Garden Friends the next time they take the court. Lee Christian will host New Garden Friends at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Cape Fear Christian Academy will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
