After soaring high against St. Cecilia last Friday, Icarus fell to the ground on Friday. Freeman were completely outmatched, falling 0-40 to Sutton. Freeman were down by 0-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
No one put up better numbers for Sutton than senior Brett Simonsen, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Jacob Rogers, who racked up 11 tackles.
The loss dropped Freeman's record to 2-1. The win bumped Sutton's record up to 3-0.
Freeman will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Sandy Creek. As for Sutton, they will face off against Centennial. Sutton have bulldozed their previous 3 opponents, so Centennial might have their hands full.
