The Inglemoor Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Newport - Bellevue Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Inglemoor will be strutting in after a victory while Newport - Bellevue will be coming in after a defeat.
Inglemoor will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Hazen on Monday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 19-3 margin over the Highlanders. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Sophia Pearson (2025) was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jade Cisneroz (2025), who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Inglemoor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hazen only posted a batting average of .158.
Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Newport - Bellevue was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They fell just short of Juanita by a score of 4-2.
Emma Chen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Blank, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Newport - Bellevue now has a losing record of 4-5-1. As for Inglemoor, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-1.
Newport - Bellevue's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Inglemoor has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Newport - Bellevue, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Inglemoor keep running through batters, or will the Knights buck the trend?
Everything went Inglemoor's way against Newport - Bellevue in their previous meeting back in March, as Inglemoor made off with a 14-4 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
