Incarnate Word Academy won the last time they faced John Paul II and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Angels were the clear victors by a 23-1 margin over the Centurions. The Angels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Harper Phillips was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Mattie Barnick and Addie Aleman did most of the damage at the plate: Barnick got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Aleman got on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Aleman has posted since back in February. Addison Sparkman was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Incarnate Word Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for John Paul II, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-9.

Incarnate Word Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-3 loss against Geneva on the 9th. As for the Centurions, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Guardians.
