Softball Recap: Oak Creek Has No Trouble Against Oshkosh West

Oak Creek barely beat Oshkosh West the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Wildcats on Saturday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by eight runs or more this season.

Aly Skrobis and Rita Sippy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Skrobis didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Sippy tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. At bat, Skrobis went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Sippy went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Skrobis has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Lyla Bray and Claire Mank did most of the damage at the plate: Bray went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Mank went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Christopher, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Oak Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Oak Creek has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oshkosh West, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-15-1.

Oak Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oshkosh West, they will be playing at home against Slinger at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
