Northwood and Irvine are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Northwood Timberwolves will welcome the Irvine Vaqueros at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Irvine took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Northwood, who comes in off a win.
Northwood barely beat Crean Lutheran the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Everything went Northwood's way against Crean Lutheran on Tuesday as Northwood made off with a 14-6 win. The Timberwolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Northwood got a massive performance out of Marissa Lee, who scored five runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Lee a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylie Wong, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Lee wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Northwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Irvine came up short against San Clemente on Tuesday, falling 10-4. The Vaqueros have struggled against the Tritons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.
Abby Sasaki and Reese Villanueva stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sasaki went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Villanueva scored a run while going 3-for-4. Villanueva is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Mia Vinopal also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Irvine's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Northwood, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
