The Clovis West Golden Eagles will be playing at home against the Hanford Bullpups at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Clovis West has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Hanford will arrive with six straight victories.
Clovis West pushed their score all the way to 34 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 48-34 bruising from Clovis.
Clovis West's defeat came about despite a quality game from Tyler Patrick, who threw for 388 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Landon Wright, who picked up 124 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Hanford didn't have too much trouble with Lemoore at home on Friday as they won 27-13. Hanford's offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Daniel Gomez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 182 yards and three touchdowns.
Clovis West's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Hanford, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as the two teams have no problem gaining yardage. Clovis West has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 359.2 total yards per game. However, it's not like Hanford struggles in that department as they've been even better at 385.2 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Clovis West took a serious blow against Hanford in their previous meeting back in October of 2021, falling 57-29. Can Clovis West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
