Bishop Montgomery extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 5-13. They fell 10-7 to the Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves. The Knights were not able to make up for their loss to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in March of 2025.
Sofia Podzimek put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits. Podzimek was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Ajeya Reddy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Abigail Green, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
As for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games.
Like Bishop Montgomery, Wiseburn- Da Vinci also got a great game from a two-way player: Sophie Laureano-Torres. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. Laureano-Torres has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since March 2nd.
In other batting news, Lelina Hoffman was incredible, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anali Jimenez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Looking ahead, Bishop Montgomery will take on Saint Joseph at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jesters have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Wiseburn- Da Vinci, they will face off against Mira Costa at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
