After a string of five wins, the Waterford Ravens's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were beaten by Draper APA 75-36. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Waterford in their matchups with Draper APA: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the defeat, Waterford had strong showings from Anne Howard , who scored 17 points, and Halee Hasebi, who scored 12 points. Howard scored a full 47.2% of Waterford's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ana Holtey was another key contributor, scoring no points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Waterford struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Draper APA racked up 13 assists.
Draper APA got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was La'La Baldwin out in front who scored 31 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. The match was Baldwin's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammy Kartchner, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Waterford's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Draper APA, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
