There's no place like home for the Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past Mullins Marion Christian 32-29. The victory was just what Christ the Cornerstone Academy needed coming off of a 54-22 defeat in their prior game.
Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ceanna Jacobs, who scored 12 points. That was a full 41.4% of Mullins Marion Christian's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joy Gause, who scored eight points.
The win got Christ the Cornerstone Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Mullins Marion Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Christ the Cornerstone Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mullins Marion Christian will head out on the road to challenge Maranatha Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
