The Roxboro Community Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 65 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 77-65 to Eno River. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (55), Roxboro Community still had to take the loss.
Roxboro Community's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carver Pleasant, who scored 32 points, and Ben Wheeler who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pleasant has scored all season.
Among those leading the charge was Ashton Reeves-Smith, who scored 18 points. He is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Wade Clough, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Roxboro Community dropped their record down to 2-10 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Eno River, their win bumped their record up to 6-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roxboro Community won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Griffins at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Averaging 59.88 points so far this season, Oxford Prep's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so the Bulldogs better be ready for a challenge. As for Eno River, they will be playing at home against the Pride at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Henderson Collegiate knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully the Bobcats like a good challenge.
