Matanzas entered their tilt with Menendez on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Menendez Falcons 65-44. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Matanzas' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexander Davis led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Davis also posted seven blocks, which is notable because Matanzas is 9-4 when he posts at least five blocks, but 3-4 otherwise. La'Darien Baker was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Matanzas was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Matanzas' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.2 points per game. As for Menendez, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Matanzas has already played their next contest, a 67-49 victory against Mandarin on the 30th. As for Menendez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 57-43 loss against Oakleaf on the 30th.
