The Albuquerque Bulldogs waltzed into their game on Saturday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Manzano 60-27 on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-11.
Albuquerque's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaelynn Ashley led the charge by scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Amariah Valles was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six steals and five assists.
Albuquerque is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Manzano, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.
Albuquerque will be playing at home against the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Los Lunas is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Manzano, they will head out on the road to take on the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Capital is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
