Lamar has gone a perfect 6-0 against Rye recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lamar Thunder will take on the Rye Thunderbolts at 6:00 p.m. Lamar has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Lamar is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Banning Lewis Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-18 win. The Thunder haven't had any issues with the Stallions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Lamar's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chloe Weber led the charge by going 10 for 16 to rack up 23 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Weber a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Robbins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.
Lamar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 50-19, which was the final score in Rye's tilt against Salida on Thursday. The Thunderbolts have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Kelsy Stribling was Rye's leading scorer, having posted five points.
Rye's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Lamar, their win bumped their record up to 14-3.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lamar has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Rye struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Lamar against Rye in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 50-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lamar since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
