The Blanchard Lions had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 55-28 win over Sallisaw. The win was nothing new for Blanchard as they're now sitting on ten straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blanchard to victory, but perhaps none more so than McHale Howell, who rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Howell was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Cooksey, who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Blanchard pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 22.5 points. As for Sallisaw, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Blanchard will take on Poteau at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Poteau is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Sallisaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
